Interior Design and DIY simplified.

This blog started with the desire to share my journey of chasing my childhood dream with others. To be honest, I'm such an analog person. Social media is a tough one for me, but through watching other designers share such inspiring content, I decided to take the leap and join the digital world.

A quick bio on me- I was born and raised in Detroit, MI. As young as I could remember, while riding around the city, I'd marvel at the architecture of Detroit's many historic homes and buildings. I was always excited to go to the main library downtown when I had a school project. It was then that I could admire that historic charm from up close. With that much inspiration around me, I was already being primed for my love of architecture and interior design.

At 8 years old, I discovered the world of design through an aunt of mine. She'd take me to her office and give me a backstage pass to her world. Colors, fabrics, furniture design- it all seemed like a magical world before my eyes. From then on, that was my dream career. My true passion.  Like many, as I grew up I took many detours to achieve my dream. I don't think I have completely arrived because there's always so much to learn, but I'm finally putting my passion to use. I have my husband, our children and family beside me, and I'm running full steam ahead in letting my love for design guide me through.

Aside from design, I love taking on weekend warrior diy woodworking projects. Did I mention my table saw (Mary)  is my best friend? Mary and I love to go on adventures together dreaming up new furniture designs and bringing them to life. Carpentry takes me to a place where I can forget all of my troubles and completely be myself. Mary never judges. :)
